Catherine Segura is a Wet Plate Collodion Photographer based in Chula Vista. In college she attended a demonstration of the process, and found the idea intriguing. Taught by Dave Smith and Nick Hidek she became a volunteer in Old Town San Diego doing portraits with this process. She is inspired by the works of Carlton Watkins and Alfred Cheny Johnston and the dynamics it takes to create this photographic medium.
She often photographs in Old Town San Diego on the weekends.
Right now we have a collection of Catherine's from Bodie Historical State Park. We have both the originals and high resolution scanned copies on cotton paper.
