Eleanor Greer is a visual artist based in San Diego, CA. Her work consists primarily of colorful paintings done in oil and acrylic that express an interest in observing and recording the specifics and shifts of everyday spaces. Her works are based on forms, textures and spaces pulled from her surrounding environment and composed into new images creating layered themes of place, local memory, and time.
Eleanor was an artist in residence at the New Bedford Museum of Art in 2017 and exhibits regularly in Southern California including the recent Los Angeles exhibition SoCal MFA juried by former LACMA curator Howard N. Fox. She is a 2018 recipient of an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant and is a current MFA candidate at San Diego State University School of Art + Design.
